at the Children’s
Advocacy Project
Thank
you for your interest in volunteering at the Children’s Advocacy
Project. You can make a difference in the life of a child! Volunteering
provides an opportunity to give time and energy to a worthwhile cause.

Opportunities
Family
Greeters: Family Greeter Volunteers welcome the child and family
to the Center and make them feel comfortable and at ease. Family Greeters
will assist our Child Advocate by supervising playroom activities while
interacting with children as they await their services. Playing a board
game, coloring, reading, crafts, watching a movie, and providing snacks
are all part of the duties for this position.
Office Volunteer: Provide general
clerical and administrative assistance. This may include answering phones,
reminder calls for counseling or medical appointments, filing, typing,
assisting with transportation needs, writing thank you letters, assisting
with large mail projects and working on special projects as needed.
Children’s Services: Assist
specifically with children’s services. Maintain the “Comfort Closet”
by making sure we always have a supply of new stuffed animals, blankets,
clothing, and toiletries. Ensure the kitchen has drinks and snacks
available for the children and the playroom is picked up and ready for the
next family to arrive.
Special Events: Assist
with fund raising, trainings, meetings, volunteer recruitment, open
houses, Child Abuse Prevention Month, etc.
*Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age.
Positions are available Monday through Friday 8am-5pm.Flexible schedules
are available, you may volunteer half days, weekly, or bi-weekly.
Volunteers will be required to fill out paperwork, sign a statement of
confidentiality, and submit to a criminal background check.* |
